Dip.Interior Design + Cert.Design
New Zealand born and bred, Melanie has always been fascinated with design, architecture, colour, form, function, and structure.
She grew up in Auckland and studied a Certificate of Design and a Diploma of Interior Design through Unitec, and got her first taste of work experience at an architecture firm whilst completing her studies.
Melanie was lucky enough to be employed full time as soon as she graduated.
"I continued learning and growing in residential interior design by working at two major architecture firms in Auckland. Funnily enough, I ended up getting a role as project manager back at Unitec, where it all started with my study in design."
Melanie went on to work with a global design consultancy in the field of commercial developments. Her role involved prototyping and manufacturing design elements, design documentation (CAD), estimation, tenders, engineering and project management.
In 2012, Melanie moved to Australia, where she continued to develop her skills in the commercial building and engineering aspects of design, and progressed into senior project management roles.
Melanie loves meeting and working with people, and seeing her clients thrilled with their end result. While her passion has always been with residential interior design , she also loves working on commercial interior design, which present a different and equally exciting challenge.
Melanie lives in Paengaroa on a kiwifruit orchard, with her partner, their two boys , and the family fur kids – dog Rocco and cat Kiki.
